In order to garner input into the Master Plan process, the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has established a Local Advisory Group consisting of elected officials, county and village planners, emergency service districts, school districts and other governmental agencies with jurisdiction over the airport site or surrounding areas. The purpose of the Local Advisory Group is to give feedback to IDOT on their proposed plans and how they may impact existing or future plans of the existing residents and surrounding communities. While IDOT recognizes that some of the people in the Local Advisory Group are opposed to the project, they are committed to sharing their potential plans with the Group to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to comment on them.
